A green panel fence post with a fixing

Posts for panel fences

60 × 40 mm steel posts, galvanised inside and out and painted the same colour as the panels. Lengths from 2.0 to 3.0 m.

Posts designed for our panels

We started making posts at our customers' request. Buyers wanted posts that are as durable as our 3D panels, match them in size and colour, and are good value. Now we make the posts ourselves, in Jelgava. A post and a panel from one manufacturer mean the dimensions match, the fixings fit and the colour shade is the same — no need to hunt for parts from different suppliers.

Before painting, the posts are galvanised both outside and inside. This matters: a post often rusts from the inside, where water gets in through the top or at the concrete line. Every post has a PVC cap on top that keeps water out.

How to choose the post length

The post length is the panel height plus the part set in concrete in the ground and a small gap above the ground. Standard recommendation:

  • Panel 1.03 m — post 1.7 m
  • Panel 1.23 m — post 2.0 m
  • Panel 1.53 m — post 2.0–2.3 m
  • Panel 1.73 m — post 2.3–2.5 m
  • Panel 2.03 m — post 2.5–3.0 m

Set the post in concrete at least 50 cm deep. The final length depends on the soil: in boggy and soft ground the post needs to be longer. If in doubt, ask our specialists.

Installation

Posts are set in concrete every 2.5 m, to match the panel width. Panels are attached to the posts with special fixings for 60 × 40 mm posts; you can buy them in the shop together with the posts. To get a straight fence, first set the end posts in concrete, stretch a string line between them, and only then put in the intermediate posts.

How many posts you need

One panel is 2.5 m wide, so on each straight run of fence you need one more post than panels. Example: a fence 50 m long needs 20 panels and 21 posts. If the fence has corners or gates, each extra run needs one more post. The calculator in our shop adds all of this up automatically, together with the fixings.

Colour

We paint the posts in the same colours as the panels — green (RAL 6005), anthracite (RAL 7016) and brown (RAL 8017). So the fence looks uniform, and you do not have to paint the posts yourself.

Where they are used

  • With any of our 3D panel fences — private houses, schools, factories
  • Along the fence line up to the gates (the gates themselves have their own, larger posts — see Gates)

Can posts be driven into the ground without concrete?

The standard solution is to set the post in concrete at least 50 cm deep. There are also solutions with post base plates — for example, for mounting on a concrete foundation. Ask our specialists what suits your site.

Do the posts fit other manufacturers' panels?

The posts are designed for our panels and fixings. For other manufacturers' panels, check that the fixing fits a 60 × 40 mm section.
